Here’s that rose bush again from another angle. Notice how the water droplet acts like a lens and brings background leaves into sharp focus.

Time for something a little different. Some of you might find this one a little strange. I was surprised my wife likes it.
My attraction to this was the textures, color, movement and composition. To see beauty in the mundane.

Well, I realized I have never posted a sunset photograph, so I picked this one for today. It was shot the same day as the moon below.

Day Moon through Branch

This is actually two exposures combined. When I focused on the either the branch or the moon, the other was out-of-focus. You can see the blurry branch in the photograph, which actually adds depth to the image. Combining the two, as an overlay, also made the sky richer in color.
This is one of the first shots I made with Nikon D300 using the 70-300mm lens. I also photographed the beginning of the total lunar eclipse on February 20, 2008. I have a slideshow of it on my website.
