Time for a classic. This was shot in 1977 in Los Angeles, at my friend Reed’s apartment. The bird had flown in before the glass patio door was closed. He was trying to leave when Reed’s cat, Roone, came home and spotted him. I had a long lens on my old Minolta and was forced to a far corner of the room, standing on a couch, to get far enough back to fit them both in the frame. I love the expression on the bird’s face.

Two Old Vultures

Wow, this week is special.
Today is my daughter’s 40th birthday.
Yesterday my iPhone was 1 year old.
This email list is a month old today.
Tomorrow is one of my best friend’s birthday.
Anyway, about the photograph. It was taken down by the Delaware River in New Hope, Pennsylvania. There were 20 or 30 of these birds. I assumed they were some kind of water foul, but thought they looked like vultures. When I got home, I researched it on the internet and sure enough, they are black vultures.
These two guys look like they are having a chat.
