March 3, 2008 on 10:27 am | In Jim Morrison, My Rock Photographs | No CommentsToday a good friend of Patricia Morrison’s, Jim’s wife, presented her with a framed print of Jim Morrison #9. She was thrilled and told me, “Thank you! The picture, hand-delivered by Fernand yesterday, is absolutely gorgeous. Thank you so much for being part of the surprise. Fernand is a dear young friend, and it was so considerate and kind of him to give me the photo for my birthday. Anyway, the picture is lovely. Now I just need to figure out where to hang it. Again thanks.”

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame
April 26, 2007 on 11:50 am | In Jim Morrison, My Rock Photographs | Comments OffToday, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame called me. They want a print of Jim Morrison & the Lamb for an exhibit, Break on Through: The Lasting Legacy of the Doors - runs May 25, 2007 - October 7, 2007.

People ask if the lamb was real and where Jim got the lamb? Jim was handed the lamb, on stage, by Lewis Marvin of Moonfire. Lewis would travel around spreading his philosophy of non-violence and vegetarianism. Marvin would carry the lamb around to demostrate his principles that if you eat meat, you’re killing this little lamb. The skull hat Jim wore on stage was also from Lewis Marvin. Lewis died in early 2005, in Panama.

A Full Circle
January 27, 2006 on 11:47 pm | In My Rock Photographs | No CommentsThe Miami Herald had turned down my Jim Morrison photographs in 1969. I had called them after the infamous Miami Concert. They were responsible for informing Jim’s attourney about the existance of my work, which he purchased for the trial. This led to my testimony as Jim’s first defense witness.
Anyway, They just contacted me and wanted to purchase a photograph, Jim Morrison #7, for an article on This Day in 1969. This completes the circle, but it took 37 years.
