Jpeg File Format
Jpeg (Joint Photographic Engineering Group) is a lossy image compression file format. It maintains a 24 bit palette and has adjustable compression setting to achieve desired ratios of quality to size. Jpeg is a universal format which is supported by most computer platforms and software. It is especially useful for photo quality graphics on the Internet's World Wide Web.
